gINT is retired. What's your plan?

Bentley put gINT in Support Discontinued status in January 2026 — no more updates, ever. Every small firm on gINT faces the same three bad options. BoreCraft is the fourth.

$2,645

per seat, per year

What gINT's mid tier cost — the one with fences and AGS. The top tier was $3,675.

2026

support ended

Bentley retired gINT in January 2026 and herds everyone to OpenGround: enterprise pricing, enterprise sales process.

credible alternatives

Excel templates, or a dormant open-source project nobody maintains. That's the whole list.

What the app does today

Boring-log editorType strata, samples and SPT data in the browser. Nothing to install, works on the office PC and the field laptop.
gINT-style log sheetsProfessional boring logs with soil symbols, N-value graphs and groundwater — output reviewers recognize instantly. Live preview as you type.
Lab data on the logEnter MC, Atterberg limits, -200 and qu per sample — PI auto-calculates and a lab-data table prints right on the sheet. Your lab results, where the logger needs them.
Site mapPlot every boring by easting/northing, click a point to open its log. Your site plan, live.
CSV in and outPaste spreadsheet data straight in, export it back out the same way. Your Excel workflow, minus the formatting hell.
Print / PDFOne click to a print-ready log sheet. No export step, no watermark.
USCS + ASTM built inClassification per D2487, SPT per D1586, RQD per D6032 — the standards your PG stamps.
Your data stays yoursSaved in your browser, exportable as JSON anytime. No account, no lock-in — that would make us Bentley.
Fence diagramsCross-sections between borings with correlated strata, N-values and groundwater — the drawing every report needs, generated instantly.
Texas-readyTexas Cone Penetrometer (Tex-132-E) column with auto consistency descriptors per the TxDOT Geotechnical Manual, plus station/offset on every log.
DXF exportStick logs straight into AutoCAD/Civil 3D — no redraw, no tracing.
Installable appAdd BoreCraft to your home screen; it works offline in the field and syncs nothing anywhere — your data stays yours.

Questions

Is this really going to be free?

Yes. The core product — unlimited projects, log sheets, PDF export — is free forever. Pro (team workspaces, DOT template packs, priority support) is the paid tier. Founding members get Pro for life at $199.

Is v1 out?

Yes — the core app is live and free: log editor, gINT-style sheets, CSV import, print/PDF. AGS support, team workspaces and DOT template packs are on the roadmap, steered by founding members.

Can it replace gINT for my firm?

That's the goal: familiar log output, AGS and Excel import for your existing data, and none of the license-server pain. Texas DOT template pack is first on the roadmap after v1.

Switching from gINT — how do I bring my old projects?

Two paths: export from gINT as AGS 4 (best) or Excel/CSV, then import here — the app has a "From gINT" guide built in. Direct .gpj opening needs a desktop converter, which ships with team workspaces.

Who's building this?

A working QA/QC geotech in Texas who's lived in gINT, Excel templates, and lab benches for years — and is tired of the $2,645/yr bill.

What if I just want to watch?

Fair. The free tier will be there at launch. Founding membership is for firms that want to lock Pro pricing and steer the roadmap.
